VI Edition of International Numismatic Prizes Vicenza Numismatica
Vicenza Fair is the official stage of the "International Prizes Vicenza Numismatica", supported by the Unione Filatelica Numismatica Vicentina in co-operation of Vicenza Numismatica that will include the 4rd edition of the "Vicenza Numismatica", "Vicenza Palladio" and "Vicenza Fair to the Career" Awards.
The "International Prize Vicenza Numismatica" is assigned to the most beautiful minted coin. To give this prize, the Jury assesses the aesthetical aspect and the message that is conveyed by the coin.
The "International Prize Vicenza Palladio" is given to the coin that includes the best architectonic representation. In this case, aesthetics and the rendering of the subject in the coin are examined by the Jury.
The first two prizes will be awarded to Mints or State Administrations from around the world that will send, to the Organising Committee, coins minted during the last year.
In order to take part in the contest, coins must be sent to the Vicenza Fair by May 31.
A special Jury, composed by important members representatives of the world of art, of culture and of numismatics, will examine only circulating coins made of any metal.
Entry to the contest is free.
Last but not least, the "International Prize fiera di Vicenza to the Career" is given to the artist who has mostly distinguished in his/her career for the drawing of coins, medals and sketches.
The official proclamation of the winning coins and the prize - giving will take place with a proper ceremony during "Vicenza Numismatica" - saturday, october 31 at 6.00 p.m. - and the coins competing for the Prizes, will be exhibited during "Vicenza Numismatica".
In over 18 editions, Vicenza Numismatica has become the most important Italian appointment for coins, medals and paper money thanks to its capacity for combining commercial and cultural aspects.
